Three South African cities have been included in the list of the most dangerous cities around the world.. Cape Town, Western Cape
Cape Town is currently known as the murder capital of South Africa. The city had a huge homicide rate since the first annual report by The Citizen Council For Public Security and Criminal Justice in 2013. The murder numbers rised in 2018 by 66 murders per 100 000 people living in the city. The numbers, however, had two yearly declines from 65.5 in every 100 000 residents in 2015. The city lowered from the 15th most dangerous city in 2017 to number 11 in 2018. In 2015, the city was in 9th place. The population had an estimate of 4 million (4 322 031) residents and 2 868 murders in 2018.
Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth
The murder rate of Nelson Mandela Bay increased a bit in 2018, making the city the 45th most dangerous city in the world and the second most dangerous city in South Africa.
