EASTERN CAPE – A 21-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday morning, 03 August 2020 by patrolling Anti-Gang Unit members in Bethelsdorp.

The suspect was detained on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Police are urging illegal firearm owners to hand over their firearms as the new Firearm Amnesty period has been extended to a further six months commencing from 1 August 2020 to 31 January 2021.
