Dutywa Police arrested a 57-year-old man for alleged attempted rape. It is alleged that a 66-year-old woman was alone at her home on Friday, 19 April 2019 at about 19h00 at Auckland Locality, Mangathi Village, Dutywa. She saw the suspect entering her home. The suspect tried to rape her but the victim fought back until the suspect decided to flee.
The 66-year-old woman identified the suspect and reported the case at Dutywa Police Station. The suspect was traced and arrested. He will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 23 April 2019 on a charge of attempted rape.
