In his first interview since being charged with sexually abusing four people, including three girls under 18, Robert ‘R. Kelly’ Kelly denies the actions his being accused of.
The R&B singer, out on bail, accepted an interview from Gayle King of CBS This Morning. In an extract of the interview, R. Kelly tells King that the allegations against him are lies.
“Whether they’re old rumours, new rumours, future rumours, not true,” said R. Kelly.
When King persisted in questioning, R. Kelly responded by saying, “Stop it. Y’all quit playing! Quit playing! I didn’t do this stuff. This is not me!”
CBS also plans to interview two women who are recently living with R. Kelly, one whose parents state that she is being held against her will.
R. Kelly was cleared of child pornography charges in 2008 that were attracted by a graphic video that prosecutors stated showed him having intercourse with a girl as young as 13.
