Petition To Bring Back Malefu To The River Gains Attention. Fans are infuriated about the absence of the Malefu character. One fan stated that the show is boring without the character in it.
One month after actress Moshidi Motshegwa told the public that her contract to be on the 1Magic show The River was not renewed, reportedly due to an argument with the show’s management, a petition to bring her back was laid. The petition is now getting a lot of support.
The petition started by Thanduxolo Mantakana, on the Change.org website, has currently reached 370 signatures. 50% of the signatures were reached within the last week. The petition describes why the character has to come back to the show.
The petition reads,“She was prepared to stay for another season and a commitment was made to that effect, only to be retracted later.”
Fans are infuriated about the absence of the Malefu character. One fan stated that the show is boring without the character in it. Another fan wanted the suffering that they have endured, since Motshegwa’s exit, to stop.
Brenda Ngxoli’s ‘Dambisa’ character, however, allowed fans to settle down a bit on Tuesday. This happened when Dambisa had an altercation with her brother Zweli, played by Hlomla Dandala, because of Sindi Dlathu’s ‘Lindiwe’ character. Fans of the show commended Brenda and Hlomla Dandala’s scene with one fan saying it was “everything”.
