SA Is A Great Country For Homosexuals According To This Study. South Africa has been highly place on the list of African countries that welcome homosexual couples.
South Africa would be the last place that people would think could be more accepting of same-sex couples. A study by the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association says otherwise though. The study states that South Africa is one of the most secure countries in the world for people that are part of the LGBTQI+ group.
South Africa has been highly place on the list of African countries that welcome homosexual couples. The study states that South Africa has laid a constitutional protection for homosexual couples, also allowing them to get married and adoption is allowed for homosexual couples. If a person violates the law that protects the homosexuals of South Africa, that person is eligible to being arrested and charged. Angola follows after South Africa with its broad protection for the homosexual people in the country.
The countries that are in one standing with South Africa with the LGBTQI+ ranks are Portugal, Malta and Sweden. Five other countries also give same-sex couples the same constitutional protection but don’t give the same-sex couples the right to get married or adopt children. These are countries such as Mexico, Ecuador and Bolivia, to name a few.
Some European countries allow homosexual couples to get married but they do not give the couples constitutional protection. The United States of America is also part of the countries that does not give constitutional protection for homosexual couples. Other countries could give you the death penalty or, just arrest you for 8-10 years if you are homosexual.
There 11 countries that consider the death penalty for a person that is homosexual. Some of the countries include Qatar, Pakistan, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Zimbabwe arrests its homosexual citizens for up to 8 years.
