A 23-year-old cleaner by the name of Karabo Thosago went viral after he saved a man that was drowning in a pool. The client was drowning at the Planet Fitness gym when Thosago came to the rescue. The CCTV camera video of him saving the individual made rounds on the internet.
Karabo Thosago is a cleaner at the Craighall Park Planet Fitness. He didn’t even think twice when he saw that the man was having difficulties. He says that he was frightened by the incident because it was his first time seeing this type of incident.
Karabo Thosago told News24, “I just thought if I don’t jump in, then this person can die in a matter of seconds.”
The client was swimming towards the end of a lane but then he slips and gets dragged under the swimming pool. Karabo had to immediately go in and elevate the victim’s head so that the victim can breathe.
The Planet fitness general manager, Shanice Butcher, says he was then helped by the other personnel of the gym, they aided him in taking out the male. She says that he saved a life. The male that was saved was taken to the hospital and is now back to his normal state. She says she was happy with what Karabo did for the male. Karabo has been working at the gym for the past nine months. The general manager informed the head office about what Karabo Thosago did for the male at the gym.
