Members of Crime Prevention Unit in Linden arrested three suspects after a 33-year-old man was allegedly robbed of R300 000 that he withdrew from the bank.
During the arrest at approximately 12:00 today, police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects aged between 30 and 37 are due to appear at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.
Through a crime intelligence driven operation, the suspects were observed as the information was that five suspects driving a Toyota Corolla robbed a man who was from the bank.
The suspects’ vehicle was spotted driving around Ells and Republic roads. Police stopped the vehicle and confronted the suspects, two ran away and three were arrested.
The suspects are still being profiled as they are suspected to be involved in other serious and violent crimes.
Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela commended the police officers for work well done, and edging the community to continue reporting crime.
