The Northern Cape Provincial SAPS Management welcomed 18-years jail term handed on a 20-year-old rapist Crayton Manus. Crayton is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl during March 2018. On the day, in which the crime was committed, the accused was partying together with the victim on the dry river.
Later in the evening, the victim decided to go home. While she was walking home Crayton grabbed and threw her on the ground and repeatedly raped her. He remained in police custody until he was sentenced early this week.
Crayton was found guilty and sentenced by the Calvinia Regional Court, on Monday, 27 May 2019. He was sentenced to an effective 18-years behind bars.
