‘Rea Tsotella’ “Deadbeat Father” Sparks Conversation About Deadbeats. She says the father hasn’t paid maintenance for their children since they separated in 1999.
On Wednesday’s episode of the controversial problem solving Moja Love show ‘Rea Tsotella’, a woman by the name of Florence had a problem with the father of her children. She says the father hasn’t paid maintenance for their children since they separated in 1999. She says he stopped talking to the children because they were causing a divide between him and his wife. The wife doesn’t like the man’s children. The woman says the man only gave the children R700 once.
The second born says the man has been giving them empty promises. They then confronted the man. Florence says he hasn’t done anything for the child since she was born. She says he doesn’t show any interest in the child. The man says he is scared of the woman because she is a dangerous person. He says she was a suspect in his wife’s kidnapping. He also said the woman missed him with a butcher knife.
Florence says the man is a serial liar. She went on to say that there are rumours that the wife controls the man’s finances to the point of withholding his bank cards. The man says the woman once came to him and dumped the children on him, he lived with the children in Johannesburg. The man says the woman then came back and told him that the children are not his, while snatching the children. He says she left with the children for years. When they were supposed to get paternity tests, the woman was missing in action. The man says he isn’t sure whether the first born is his child.
The daughter says the sister is a spitting image of the father. The daughter started becoming teary when she mentioned her miscarriage. The daughter says that the man didn’t even check up on her when she had a miscarriage; he also lied to her by telling her that he is a doctor. The second born daughter says the man is liar. The man went on to say he is trying to rebuild the relationship with his daughters, which results in him calling them behind his wife’s back. The daughter says she doesn’t want to be associated to him anymore, she said her boyfriend will support her.
The story sparked a conversation about deadbeat fathers on Twitter. One tweep says, “How many people can actually say they were able to build/rebuild a relationship with their deadbeat?” One tweep says, “The kind of impact deadbeat fathers have on their kids is just heartbreaking.” One tweep says, “Deadbeat dads and paternity test, same whatsapp group…” One tweep says when her mother passed away her dad didn’t show up to support her.
