Mpumalanga Student Allegedly Assaulted For Making Noise. He then went on to say that he apologised.
A Grade 11 student had a lot of injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by three men who hauled him from class last Friday according to Mpumalanga News. The student from Hlomani Secondary School states that he was told to leave the classroom by his educator because he was disturbing the class. He then went on to say that he apologised.
However, he was told be out of the class, according to the student. They were reportedly busy with corrections at the time, to which he was not making a noise. “We were busy with corrections and I was not even making noise at the time. The teacher asked me why I was not leaving and I ignored him. A few minutes later, three men arrived and took me with them in a car to a house not far from the school,” says the Grade 11 student.
He went on to say that he was tied up and beaten. “I was tied up, beaten and had my hair cut,” says the student. He says even though he asked the men multiple time what he did to be beaten up, they went on to assault him and splashed him with cold water. The mother states that she wants the people that did this to her son to be brought to book. “The principal claims he and the head of department at the school do not know anything about the incident. My son is in pain and I want the people responsible to be brought to book. This means our children are not safe if they can be taken from school to be beaten up,” says the Grade 11 student’s mother.
