School Replies To Demonstrations Against Supposed Satanic Art Pieces. A pupil’s art pieces have frustrated some Christian people on social media.

A pupil’s art pieces have frustrated some Christian people on social media. The art submission was seen as insulting to Christianity. The people were in outrage after a video of the art pieces was recorded and sent on Facebook, the video made rounds.

The art pieces were created by a Grantleigh school’s student. The art pieces were part of a final presentation to the Independent Examination Board. It was also shown at the school’s foyer as part of a final year exhibition. The pictures depicted are those that are used in religion. However, the pieces can be seen as insulting to others as it has paintings of Jesus and God portrayed as clowns. There were also torn scripts from the bible that were used to make papier-mache demons. Other pictures were also used that supposedly portrayed some Satanistic subject matters.

The man who sent the video was seen to be an upset dad. The father stated that he was heartbroken that the institution acknowledged the art pieces to be shown. He stated that he has respect for the teachers; however, he called for a demonstration against the art pieces. The school is based in Kwambonambi in KwaZulu-Natal, its under the Curro group. The members of the institution state that the art pieces were recorded and sent to social media without the institutions’ acknowledgement. This was done even though there were demands that the works of the learners should not be shown publicly, because the works had to be understood in the factors of the given theme.

A curro member told News24 that “Curro are cognisant of the allegation made on social media and the matter is currently subject to internal investigation. Curro reiterates that comments made about the school, the artwork and the learner are not an accurate reflection of our school and the situation referred to.” The member also stated that they don’t want to comment until an internal examination has been finished.
