Zimbabwean soccer player Nyasha Mushekwi, who now plays for China’s Zhejiang Greentown FC, bought his former Zimbabwean team, CAPS United, a bus in China. The bus has arrived here in South Africa, media sources report that the luxurious bus will be branded in South Africa before it is sent to the team. The player, who also used to play for Mamelodi Sundowns, purchased the vehicle for an estimated value of R1.8 million.
This was his way of saying thank you to the team for the part they played in his football life. 10 years ago he moved from Zimbabwe for Mamelodi Sundowns before he went to play in Sweden, then Belgium and now China. He went for the white colour because it matched a colour that is part of the team’s colour scheme.
“It will be a stopover in South Africa, during its shipment home, for 10 days to get branded. That’s where the guys who wrap my cars are , they are really good guys. We settled for the white colour to try and match one of the colours associated with the team. Of course there will be some touches of green, and this will be done in South Africa, but the most important thing right now is that the assembling of the bus, as per our specifications, has now been completed.”
