Black Twitter Reacts To The Killing At Menlyn Maine Over An Alleged Parking Spot. There seems to be quite a lot of violence in South Africa within the past three months.
There seems to be quite a lot of violence in South Africa within the past three months. It was recently reported that a man was apprehended for the alleged killing of a man at the Menlyn Maine shopping complex in Pretoria. The shooting happened at a parking lot in the complex. Two men were allegedly fighting over parking before the shooting happened.
Brigadier Mathapelo Pieters, the police spokesperson, says they had to apprehend the man in link to the shooting of another individual. “It is alleged that the deceased was with two other men at Menlyn Maine, when one off them approached the suspect. An altercation ensued between the men. Preliminary reports further indicate that the suspect retreated to his vehicle and returned with a firearm, and fired more than one shot at the deceased who was attempting to diffuse the situation. The man was declared dead on the scene,” says Brigadier Mathapelo Peters.
The motive is still yet to be determined by the officials. The police spokesperson has also stated that the suspect is set to appear at the Pretoria Magistrates Court in due time on the charge of murder. Black Twitter reacted to the brutal killing of the man. One tweep says, “That Menlyn Maine incident is painful. Having to die over a parking spot, having to go to jail for killing someone over a parking spot…Same with road rages, I always tell people when challenged, just be sincere and apologise.” One tweep says, “Can’t believe that video from Menlyn Maine. People fight over parking when there’s more than enough parking just below & has shade. Now someone has been shot dead.”
