DURBAN – On 7 November 2020 until 8 November 2020, the Empangeni Public Order Police embarked in an operation in Eshowe. The team proceeded to a homestead following intelligence firearms on the premises. When they arrived at the homes they found that the identified premises was locked.
A family member was then requested to unlock the door and a search was conducted at the premises. Following a search of the home, the police found three rifles hidden in the ceiling. Police seized all the firearms for further investigation. The recovered firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in the commission of any crime in the country.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the team for the recovery of illegal firearms.
