WESTERN CAPE – In pursuit of a safer community for the people of this province, members of the Western Cape Flying Squad reacted on a tipoff regarding the illegal possession of a firearm on Saturday evening. The suspect was driving a Toyota minibus and was spotted in the Mfuleni area. His vehicle was pulled over and searched, which led to the discovery of an unlicensed .38 Special revolver. The 31-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to face the charge against him in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 24 November 2020.
In an unrelated matter a 33-year-old suspect was arrested last night in Bishop Lavis with 990 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R45 000-00 in his possession.
Members of Bishop Lavis police were alerted about the drug dealer and searched the area until they found him in his vehicle in Kalksteenfontein. He made an attempt to flee on foot but was apprehended. His court appearance in scheduled for today in Bishop Lavis.
