WESTERN CAPE – The vigilance of Strand police resulted in the arrest of five suspects after they were found in possession of a hijacked vehicle yesterday in Lwandle. The members spotted a white Toyota Yaris in their area which fitted a description of a car that was announced to be hijacked in Parow earlier in the day and they immediately gave chase. The vehicle was chased up until Firlands in Lwandle where it drove into one of the police vehicles.
A case of possession of a hijacked vehicle was opened and other charges of reckless and negligence driving were added.
All the suspects aged between 26 and 35 will appear tomorrow in the Strand Magistrate court.
