GAUTENG – A 55-year-old man is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court for corruption today.
It is alleged that the suspect allegedly offered two City Power officials an amount of R15 000-00 each in order for them not to cut illegal electricity supply to his house.
The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation with the help of Krugersdorp Flying Squad and the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department conducted a sting operation in the Roodepoort area where the suspect was arrested after handing over R5000-00 cash to the officials on Monday.
The taxi association chairperson was subsequently charged for corruption.
