DURBAN – Yesterday at 07:30, Newark police officers received information about two men who were cutting steel railway masts at Tugela Rail in Newark.
Police proceeded to the scene and arrested two men after they were caught red handed cutting the steel railway masts. Police found the suspects in possession of a cutting torch as well as gas and oxygen cylinders. The men cut five railway masts into short lengths.
The two suspects, aged 21 and 38, were charged for theft and tampering with infrastructure. They are appearing before the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court today.
