Over the past year, Mzansi Wethu has focused on increasing the number of original content exclusive to the channel. In January, they introduced a new reality show, Mntase and now Mzansi Wethu will take things to an even higher level: premiering its first-ever talk show, Siza Mina.
Meaning “help me” in isiZulu, the new weekly show features real-life guests who have real issues with a range of topics, from the controversial to the relatable. Issues covered include romantic drama, family problems, unsettled debt, broken friendships, and housing and contract disputes.
“The addition of Siza Mina to our schedule is part of our commitment of ensuring our line-up is always fresh and dynamic. We’re excited to have fantastic and original new content for our DStv Access subscribers’ viewing. This format is the perfect addition to our subscribers’ weekend watching,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
Siza Mina is hosted by the witty and personable Siyabonga Vithi, businessman, radio and TV presenter whose versatile CV includes hosting the breakfast show on Alex FM and Talkback, the youth debate talk show on eNCA.
Filmed in front of a live studio audience (with strict Covid protocols being observed), the show will take us back to the days of the exciting talk show: where people are unafraid to air their feelings and to confront their opponents. This will be held together by an engaged and intelligent host and assisted by various means such as audience input and resources like lie detector tests.
Siza Mina premieres exclusively on Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163) on Sunday 13 March at 20h30. Tune in and join in the conversation on social media with #SizaMina. There will be plenty to talk about!
