A joint operation involving role-players such as the ZF Mgcawu (ZFM) Cluster Visible Policing team, Upington SAPS K9 unit, Upington Border Police and Kakamas Detectives dealt a massive blow to the drug trade in the district.
The information driven drug raids took place from Monday, 24 May 2021 to Thursday 27 May 2021 in Upington, Rosedale and Kakamas areas.
Police arrested seven suspects and confiscated Mandrax and Dagga to the approximate street value of R700 000. The suspects was charged with dealing in drugs and dagga and should be appearing in court soon.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Maj Gen Johan Bean lauds the SAPS members for their continued drive in ensuring alleged drug dealers are brought to book. Maj Gen Bean also thanked the community for their role played during these actions, as this portrays partnership policing at its best.
