The idea of whether a child that was raised in a home that has both parents in it would be good for a child has been debated by people. Some people feel as if the idea of having both parents in the home, whether the parents are happy together or not, will have the child growing up happy. Radio personality Anele Mdoda is one of the people that doesn’t believe that just because a home has both parents in it doesn’t mean that the child will grow up happy.
“This notion that two parent households are the best to raise children can end. A happy home is the best. Two parents who don’t love each other can ruin a child,” says Anele Mdoda. However, one Twitter user didn’t take kindly to the radio personality’s statement. The Twitter user ended up calling her a “Miss Independent.” The tweep says, “Abo miss independent trying to glorify being a single parent.” Anele reacted to the Twitter user’s statement. “Abo abusive men trying to get women to stay in bad relationship, settle for less all in the name of having a permanent plus one.”
Some tweeps reacted to the post in support of Anele Mdoda. Some tweeps says she had the best childhood memories with their mothers being single parents. The tweep says, “My mom was a single parent, I remember her 1st job was at an Indian shop. She had to leave varsity because she couldn’t afford fees. And here I am, I had [the] best childhood memories…” One tweep says, “My mom eventually raised us as a single parent, and I’m so grateful she chose that life for us.”
