Last week Beyonce released her ‘Lion King’ curated album titled ‘The Gift’. People instantly loved one of the songs titled Brown Skin Girl. The song was an appreciation song for black girls all over the globe. The song featured blue Ivy, with the help of Wizkid and SAINt JHN. In the song, Beyonce also named some of the “Brown Skin Girls” she appreciates such as Lupita Nyongo, Kelly Rowland and Naomi Campbell.
Tweeps started the #BrownSkinGirlChallenge in honour of the song, the users posted pics of themselves. One of the tweeps says, “Who said cheekbones are only perfect on models? ‘Baby girl you’re beautiful never let anyone tell you otherwise”-Momma…” One tweep posted pics of Miss SA finalist Chuma Matsaluka along with lines from the song. The tweep says, “Brown skin girl, Your skin just like pearls. The best thing in the world, Never trade you for anybody else…” One tweep says, “Black child you are beautiful…”
