Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife visited Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on Friday. The couple were covered by an umbrella from the rain in the Cape. The couple went to Ikanini Primary school, a new public school that was launched in 2018, according to Gallo.
The Gates then went to a pre-school in Site B, an informal area. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been providing South Africans for quite some time, with programmes such as the water and sanitation and agriculture. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation says, “SA is a country with global influence that has both significant challenges, including high rates of HIV and TB, and critical assets such as world-renowned scientific and research community.”
The foundation states that they are committed to investing in the promising future of South Africa. “…we have been committed to addressing these issues and investing in its promising future. We are working with SA to apply clout, research, and solutions to address its greatest needs.” According to reports, the Microsoft founder has just taken the title of the world’s richest man back after Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, fell by 7%.
