Black Twitter Comments On Friends And Their Involvement In A Person’s Image. Black Twitter had a bit of a debate about where to bring friends along and where not to bring friends along.
Black Twitter had a bit of a debate about where to bring friends along and where not to bring friends along. The debate was focused on one’s personal brand image. One tweep spoke about certain people that would not be changed no matter what.
The tweep says these are friends who are comfortable with being crusty. “There’s friends who are comfortable in their crustiness and you’ll never change them. But that doesn’t mean I’m comfortable with taking her crustiness to boujee places where I’m expected to have a certain image. I am not about to fumble my bag for Lerato and her pumps.” Black Twitter pounced on the woman for her tweet. Social media influencer Mbali Ndlela says, “You wanna know who you true friends are? Wear pumps and see who is still there. – Lerato, 2020.”
One tweep says, “ ‘Lerato and her pumps’…guys, drop me as a friend if you’re worried about me ruining your images. Friendships are so messed up lately.” One tweep says, “…its narcissism…Lerato fills a void that your boujee friends can’t fill. Lerato has that one thing you need from her to fuel your ego.” The debate was started by a tweep who supposedly said that her friend doesn’t align with her brand. “Would it be rude of me to tell my friend that the reason I don’t invite her to places/ events/ launches/ etc I get invited to/ don’t include her in my content creation is because she doesn’t align with my brand?”
