Black Twitter Is Mad At Moja Cafè For Strip-searching Waitress. She was also forced to remove her sanitary towel while she was being strip-searched.
A waitress from Moja Café, a popular Soweto restaurant, claims that she was stripped naked by a fellow staff member. The waitress says she was stripped naked by a female manager because she was suspected to have stolen R3000 from the restaurant.
In a voice note that has been circulating on social media, probably directed to Ntsiki Mazwai, the waitress said she was menstruating at the time. She was also forced to remove her sanitary towel while she was being strip-searched. According to the waitress, the event happened when her customers walked out of the restaurant without settling their bill. Apparently the bill took too long to get to the customers. The customers then decided to leave.
“I believe those guys were not going to walk out if my manager had not taken time to print a bill for me,” said the waitress.
The woman said that she was harassed by her manager because she was suspected of having the money on her person. She was taken to the storeroom and they didn’t find anything on her. The waitress says she doesn’t know how she’ll be able to work with her female manager after the incident.
Tweeps were obviously not happy about the incident. Some tweeps wanted to boycott the restaurant. Most of them were really disgusted by the actions that were took to search the woman.
