Some of the social media users didn’t have a problem with him dating the young woman. However, some of the uses had a huge problem with the age difference. Some of the social media users went as far as calling it paedophilic.
Some social media users responded to the ones that were against the both of them dating. The social media users stated that people had double standards as they don’t call Zodwa Wabantu out for supposedly dating young men. One tweep says, “ Zodwa Wabantu was y’alls leadership when dating younger boys. Now it’s Khune’s turn you want to paint him a pedophile?” One tweep says, “Zodwa Wantu has been living with a Ben 10 for years and the other gender was quiet about it. It was all right. Today tables have turned. Khune is smashing an 18 year old and they suddenly coming out of their hiding holes.”
One tweep says, “So it’s ok [for] Zodwa to date an 18-year-old but its [wrong] when Khune does it?” One tweep asked where the same energy was when Zodwa was walking around with her ex-fiance. The tweep says, “I’m not fighting…Where was the same energy of “She’s 18 and he’s 42 years old” that’s being directed at Itumeleng Khune when Zodwa Wabantu was parading that little boy as her boyfriend?” One tweep says, “[Khune] and Zodwa are doing the exact same thing. “Dating 18 year olds”, but nooo Zodwa is doing just fine, on the other hand, [Khune] issa trash! Ya’ll have mastered the art of double standards!”
