Black Twitter Reacts To Tembisa Hospital Being Designated To Help With Coronavirus Cases. The Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has stated that South Africa is on the lookout for the traces of the Wuhan coronavirus in the country.
The Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has stated that South Africa is on the lookout for the traces of the Wuhan coronavirus in the country. He stated that the state and the hospitals are ready in case of the event that the virus gets to South Africa. The Minister of Health stated this on Wednesday. The Minister went on to say that if a person in South Africa were to be found with the virus, they would be treated and put into quarantine.
The National Health Laboratory Services will be giving 24-houur laboratory services to find the coronavirus, if it suspected of being in presence. He also added that there are three big hospitals in the country that would get the cases of the Wuhan coronavirus if they come up. The hospitals are Steve Biko Hospital, Temba Hospital and the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. However, Black Twitter wasn’t really keen on Tembisa Hospital being one of the designated hospitals that would be helping with the cases of the virus.
One tweep says, “Can someone explain to me how Tembisa Hospital has been designated as one of the hospitals which will be used to handle any cases of the corona virus in SA when they struggled to control the virus which recently killed 10 babies in that hospital?” One tweep says, “A month ago Tembisa Hospital has 10 infant deaths due to poor infection control. Today, Tembisa hospital is one of the “prepared” hospitals to handle the Coronavirus.” One tweep says, “If you thought S.A is prepared to fight the coronavirus think again our officials have entrusted the Tembisa hospital to receive cases. The same hospital which reported infant deaths due to a virus it was unable to contain.”
