Black Twitter Reacts To Tweep Supposedly Bashing Shoprite Milk. One Twitter user wanted to also stock up due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Within this week, people have been panic buying at shops since the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has declared national emergency due to the coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, video recordings of people packed and leaving shelves empty at retailers made rounds on the internet. One Twitter user wanted to also stock up due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
On Tuesday, the Twitter user posted a picture of the items he has in his fridge. The user wanted people to help him in adding more items in his fridge. Some people made fun of him due to the items that were not supposed to be in his fridge. “I don’t mena to brag guys, I know my fridge is almost packed but I need to stock few stuff amid of this #COVID19SouthAfrica making rounds in SA. I’m at [micro] rut now…Which stuff do [you] think I need to add just to be on the safe side,” says the Twitter user.
However, some people were offended by one tweep who, according to the people, looked down on the man because of the milk brand he has in his fridge. The Tweep says, “We can talk about the sunlight liquid in the fridge later, but imagine visiting someone who drinks Shoprite brand milk…” Black Twitter reacted to the tweet of the user. One tweep says, “Then don’t visit people stay at your place and spend your own money, and let others eat what they can afford.”
“Honestly if you can afford expensive milk or you prefer a certain brand of milk. It’s okay, because it comes from the same animal, but don’t act superior we not equally the same. Don’t make other people feel bad because you can afford better brand which tastes the same,” says one tweep. One tweep says, “You think shoprite milk doesn’t come from a cow maybe? Because I’m sure you know nothing about the processing [of] milk if you can be so clueless bout brands…”
