On Thursday, a video of Vusi Thembekwayo bashing furniture business owner Sentletse made rounds on social media. The video made rounds due to the man the famous public speaker calling the furniture manufacturer a domkop for what he said about his business. The statement Vusi Thembekwayo made had people on social media divided.
Some tweeps stood up for Vusi Thembakwayo. One tweep says, “I have had the privilege of seeing [Vusi Thembekwayo] at business Conference. His amazing at what he does. People try and put him in a box, but his a really funny guy who knows who he is, doesn’t need any validation. No #domkop can tell him otherwise.” One tweep says, “That [Sentletse] guy is cyber bully of note!” One tweep says, “Look, I have to stan [Vusi Thembekwayo] Someone finally dragged Sentletse the way he deserves! We’ve been bullied by that insufferable know-it-all even in issues that he has no idea about!” One tweep says, “The same people that come for Vusi on this app are probably secretly taking notes when watching his youtube content…”
Some tweeps had a few issues with what he said in the interview. One tweep says, “Belittling others doesn’t make you Smart or clever…” One tweep says, “I have never ever taken Vusi Thembekwayo serious ever in my life, an arrogant a** who looks down on others…for sure that’s how he sees his followers or mentees.” One tweep commented to Vusi saying, “Not gonna dwell much on the word “#Domkop”…But what you said on that video about “making sofas” has revealed how you view other Black entrepreneurs. You purport to be a “Mentor” yet you make such remarks, just shows how you look down on your Mentees.”
