BUTTERWORTH – Public Order Policing Unit police members deployed at Butterworth arrested a 47-year-old woman at Skiet Informal Settlement, Butterworth on Thursday, 29 October 2020 at about 10h00.
The suspect was caught with dagga weighing 6,7kg with a street value of R7000,00. The suspect was also found with 280 mandrax tablets and 75 tik drugs with a street value of R5000,00.
The suspect was arrested following police intelligence that she was dealing in dagga and drugs.
She has been charged with dealing in dagga and dealing in drugs and will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 30 October 2020.
Eastern Cape provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga commended the members for the arrest. “Drugs are used to corrupt young children, the children are the
future of our country and all drug dealers belong in jail.”
