CELEBRATING MZANSI MOMS DOING THE MOST ON TIKTOK

  • A shout-out to celeb moms on TikTok including Pearl Thusi, Semone Skosan, DJ Zinhle, Busiswa and Ntando Duma, ahead of Mother’s Day.
  • Don’t forget to also take part in the #HappyMothersDay challenge launching on 10 May 2020.

07 May 2020: Mother’s Day is just around the corner and although we’re committed to keeping our distance, we cannot miss the opportunity to honour and celebrate the coolest mothers in our lives – whether they live in our homes or online.

With this in mind, we are taking the opportunity to show love to all the amazing moms on short-form mobile video platform, TikTok, who are not only juggling working from home and their families, but are doing so while keeping the rest of the TikTok community inspired and entertained. To those moms, we salute you!

If you’d like to wish your mom too, head over to TikTok and show some love using #HappyMothersDay. A few local creators have already shared their warm wishes.

Take a look at a few of our faves TikTok moms below:

  1. Pearl Thusi

South African actress, model, television host, radio personality and a mother of two daughters finds time in her busy schedule to have fun and jump onto TikTok trends. The Queen Sono actress recently shared a video on the platform with her eldest daughter, Thando, who decided to block the “woke” mum from her TikTok account – oops Thando! We also love to watch her break out her dance moves with her daughters too. Work it Mama, we see you!

See her fun videos below:

  1. Semone Skosan

Juggling between being a wife, mother, entrepreneur, influencer and still having time to look great and constantly engage on TikTok, needs a superpower of some sort! Describing herself as a “cool mom” on TikTok, Semone likes sharing videos of her whole family coming together to create content. With clearly a good amount of time spent in practicing their dance moves, and getting the video right, this sure keeps the unit united. Go Mrs Skosan!

  1. DJ Zinhle

Next, we’d like to raise our hands for supermom, DJ Zinhle, who is making all the right moves in SA. Showing to the TikTok community her music, this fab mom love to take part in the latest and great TikTok challenges. Zinhle is a full-time DJ, entrepreneur, TV personality and producer who recently collaborated with her daughter in her award-winning hit track, Umlilo – definitely a super power alert! You go, girls!

Check out her out on TikTok:

  1. Busiswa

The ever-energetic singer-songwriter, Busiswa, recently spoiled her TikTok family to a Sarafina dance on Freedom Day – the video is currently sitting at almost 33k views. Wow. When she isn’t entertaining the community with her lit dance moves, Busiswa enjoys sharing authentic moments from her daily life with her fan base. This includes taking on a presenting personality role, music gigs, jumping on TikTok challenges and doing a bit of working out too. If you are looking for ongoing entertainment, Mama B’s page is the place to be.

Check her out below:

  1. Ntando Duma

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to extend a warm welcome to Ntando Duma who only joined TikTok in March but has since not missed an opportunity to share her funny lip-synching videos with the TikTok community.  The South African actress, TV personality, entrepreneur and mother to baby, Sbahle, has taken to the platform to share some of her special mother and daughter moments. We look forward to sharing more of those special moments with you, Duma – Happy Mother’s Day.
