On Wednesday, 18 September 2019, Boy Dingakeng, 42-year-old and Lesego Botshelong 51-years-old were sentenced 15 years for murder. It is reported that in January 2011 the two stabbed a 22 year old man to death.
According to the report the deceased asked for a cigarette from one of the accused. Instead of giving a cigarette he insulted him, and the deceased took a stone and threw one of the accused on his head.
One accused grabbed and held the deceased while the other one stabbed him. After being stabbed the deceased was declared dead at the scene at Ganap village at one of the tavern near Tsineng.
Even though the case was postponed several times a committed and hardworking investigating officer, W/O Tebogo Ronnie Gaethijwe still believed that he had a strong case against the two accused and could not give up.
The John Taolo Gaetsewe cluster Commander, Major General Johan Bean applauded W/O Gaethijwe for ensuring that through his passion and hard work justice was served.
General Bean also praised the NPA, Department of Justice for working closely with SAPS to ensure that the culprits were removed from the community and being jailed. According to General Bean the cooperation and mutual understanding between all role players will for ever make a community to feel safe and protected.
