Couple Spends Less Money On Wedding To Be Debt-Free. The husband says he approached the wife after the church service.
Move!” interviewed two lovers, Kabelo and his wife, that used under R2000 for their beautiful matrimonial day. The couple met in 2012 when they were at a church service in Port Elizabeth, as learners. The husband says he approached the wife after the church service.
The couple had a huge problem when they thought about getting married the first time around. They couldn’t get married with the money the husband saved when he first started working because of their families. The couple wanted something small and the wife wanted to wear a tutu instead of wearing a traditional dress.
However, their relatives wanted them to have a big matrimonial ceremony. The couple had to postpone their day. They then decided to do it the way they want it to be when Kabelo couldn’t get the money they wanted to raise when he sold a book that he wrote in 2013. They got married at an eatery that was close them. They met a marriage officer at the eatery.
The couple asked two of their friends to be part of the matrimonial as observers. They then called some of their friends, along with their pastor and his wife, to tell them that they were a married couple. The couple then had their reception at a park that was close them, a couple of days later, under a gazebo.
Kabelo says, “We bought pizza worth about R800, one 5-litre juice and sparkling wine for about R50. My suit was bought for me by a friend. My wife got her dress for R180 and her shoes cost R130. My ring cost R250 and hers cost R550. We also played music from a cellphone and connected it to a small speaker.” The groom says that they had an amazing day even though their relatives were not there to feel it with them.
