Four suspects caught red handed and linked to a business robbery in Rooihuiskraal, Tshwane
Members of Tshwane Flying Squad were on routine patrol in the Rooihuiskraal area in the early hours of this morning when they spotted a number of men running towards a Toyota Quantum mini-bus parked along Old Johannesburg Road.
The members immediately stopped and searched the men and the vehicle wherein they recovered a variety of housebreaking implements and plastic bags containing food items from Food Lovers’ Market grocery store. Also found in the vehicle was a cash box belonging to G4S Security Company. Police also found on the suspects hand gloves and a loaded pistol with serial numbers filled off.
As soon as the members realised that they were onto a possible business robbery, a vehicle was dispatched to the nearby Food Lovers’ Market where police found security guards tied up, thus confirming the suspicion of a business robbery.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 31 October 2019 facing charges of business robbery, possession of suspected stolen property, and possession of illegal firearm.
Investigations will continue to establish possible linkage of the suspects to other business robberies and or any other crimes.
Management of police in Gauteng has commended the vigilance of the police officers whose efforts will go a long way in ridding the streets of criminals.
