A driver was killed and nine people were hurt when a huge tree dropped onto a minibus at Ekurhuleni in Johannesburg on a Wednesday. The medical personnel discovered the passengers’ trapped inside the minibus that has been hit by the tree. Three of the people were trapped in the front of the minibus.
The medical personnel also found the driver unconscious but they couldn’t assist him. Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesperson, says, “Three men were found lying trapped inside the front of the vehicle, while seven others were found either standing or seated near the vehicle. Medics assessed the patients and found that the entrapped driver had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing more could be done by paramedics.” Two other people that were trapped by the tree were discovered in a severe condition.
The seven others that were trapped had intermediate to little marks. The rescue workers worked for over two hours. The workers were taking parts off of the tree that was trapping the men inside the vehicle. The men that were hurt were by the tree that entrapped them, they were thus sent to hospital.
