DURBAN – On 23 November 2020, a house at Etsheni section in Wartburg was broken into and furniture valued R44 650-00 was stolen by unknown people. The suspects allegedly gained entry by forcing the windows open. Charges of robbery and theft was opened at Wartburg police station for investigation.
An intensive investigation by Wartburg task team revealed that the stolen furniture was kept in a house in Umgababa in the south coast area. On Monday night, the police proceeded to the said house where they recovered the stolen property including, fridge and six sets of leather brown sofa. The police gathered all the information and it was established that the furniture was going to be moved to another province.
Three suspects aged between 25 and 35 were then arrested and charged for robbery and theft. They will appear before the New Hanover Magistrate’s Court on 17 December 2020.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula applauded the Warburg police for excellent work and dedication in nabbing the suspects involved.
