DURBAN – This past weekend, the Durban Central Police arrested seven robbery suspects in various cases. The arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates’ Court today.
The first arrest took place on Friday, 11 December 2020, after the police responded to a case of robbery whereupon the victim was robbed of his cellphone when he was walking along Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street in Durban CBD. The Durban Central police made a swift initial investigation by tracing the suspect involved. The police managed to arrest a 29-year-old suspect yesterday in the Durban CBD and recovered a cellphone.
In another incident six suspects were arrested on 12 December 2020, in the Durban CBD after they committed robbery along Soldiers way. It is alleged that the suspects divided themselves in three groups and they had targeted two victims in a separate incidents and robbed them of cellphones. The Durban Central Police and Metro Police with the assistance of the community had managed to arrest all six suspects following the robbery incidents. The suspects aged between 18 to 45 were placed under arrest for robbery. All the cell phones were recovered from the arrested suspects.
