Eastern Cape Police are investigating a rape case of a 79-year-old woman

KING WILLIAM’S TOWN – Dutywa Police are investigating a rape case of a 79-year-old woman. It is alleged that the victim was sleeping alone at her home at Willow Locality, Ngcingwana Village, Dutywa on Sunday, 12 April 2020. At about 00:10 on the night in question the victim heard footsteps inside her room. She asked who was the person and a male voice replied that she must keep quiet. The suspect undressed the victim and raped her. The suspect later left through the door.

No one has been arrested so far. Dutywa Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with the information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact them at 047 489 1333 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
