Willowvale police are investigating a murder case. It is alleged that a 47-year-old woman was found fatally shot. She was found at her home at Nquba Locality, Mahasana Village, Willowvale.
The deceased was found with bullet wounds on her upper body. An 18-months-old baby was found unharmed next to her. The baby is the child of the deceased. The deceased was found on Friday, 03 April 2020 at about 15:00 by a villager who had visited the 47-year-old woman.
The motive behind the murder of the woman is yet to be established. The identity of the deceased will be withheld until all her relatives are officially informed of her murder.
No suspect has been arrested so far. Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with the information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect/s to contact Wilowvale police at 047 499 6234 or Crime Stop 08600 10111. The information will be treated confidentially.
Eastern Cape Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga was shocked to learn about the brutal murder of the defenceless woman. She sent her condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased. General Ntshinga also appealed to the community of Willowvale to work hand in glove with the investigators of the case so that the perpetrator/s can be brought to the book very soon.
