EASTERN CAPE – Suspects arrested for dealing with abalone in Port Elizabeth

EASTERN CAPE – Four suspects age between 19 and 38 were arrested on Thursday, 08October 2020 with abalone worth approximately R320 000-00 at Nicoll Street, Ferguson Township, Port Elizabeth.

In the early hours of Tuesday, 13 October 2020 Serious Organised Crime were following up on information regarding a syndicate that was allegedly dealing in shelled and de-shelled abalone. A decision was taken to raid the house and during the search, 1453 wet and dry abalone units and three cell phones were seized.

The suspects will appear on Monday 20 October 2020 in New Brighten District court. The investigation continues.
