A farmer and gun lover, Fritz Joubert, was supposedly shot for the murder of traditional healer Anele Hoyana in the Eastern Cape. The man was murdered due to a supposed altercation that occurred between the two of them. It is stated that Anele, his wife and two children were living with the farmer at his farm temporarily.
It is said that they had a bit of an argument that ended up being a physical altercation that moved to the man’s deck. There was also a video that showed Fritz Joubert referencing Christianity, calling Anele the devil. The man also had a Facebook story video showing Anele lying on the ground and his wife crying hysterically. Anele passed away due to multiple head injuries. The farmer called neighbouring farmers, asking them for assistance. However, farmers called police officials, telling them about the incident.
When officials came to the scene, the man held the children hostage as the wife was hiding away from him outside. The man allegedly punched one of the officials from behind as one was attempting to get the children out of the house. He thus also tried to remove the officials firearm away from him. It is also alleged that the farmer was also shot by the police officials. People on Twitter sent their condolences to the family of the murdered Anele Hoyana.
