DURBAN – On 14 May 2020, police officers from Nsuze SAPS conducted an intelligence driven operation aimed at solving robberies in their policing area. The operation yielded positive results when five suspects were arrested.
Police proceeded to Umhlali and Dalton where the suspects were apprehended. Clothing and cellphones taken during the robberies were recovered. A homemade firearm was also seized from the suspects. The suspects aged between 18 and 23 are alleged to have been terrorising the community from Dalibho and Sgodiphola at Nsuze. Police investigation has linked the suspects to seven house robbery cases committed from the beginning of this month. The suspects will appear in the Maphumulo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 May 2020.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula welcomed the arrest and stressed that the safety of the community is our priority.
