Former Idols Season 12 Runner Up thami Passed Away. Former Idols South Africa season 12 runner up Thamsanqa Shobede, commonly known as Thami, passed away this morning.

Former Idols South Africa season 12 runner up Thamsanqa Shobede, commonly known as Thami, passed away this morning. The singer passed away at 31-years-old of age. Gallo Records acknowledged that the singer has passed away.

According to Sowetan Live, the singer passed away at Kalafong Hospital in Atteridgeville in Pretoria. The general manager of Gallo Records, Robert Cowling, says, “Gallo Record Company is extremely saddened and shocked to learn of the sudden passing of one of our artists Simphiwe Thamsanqa Shobede, fondly known as Thami.” Thami passed away due to illness and complications. “His family went to see him in Atteridgeville hospital, where he passed away sometime just before noon this morning,” says Robert Cowling.

The Gallo Records general manager says they don’t have any other specifics about the passing away of the singer. “We don’t have any other specific details or facts at this time, and kkindly request that everybody respect the wishes of Thami’s family who will be issuing a formal statement shortly. Our condolences go out to all his friends and family. He will be sorely missed,” says Robert Cowling. Singer and actress Nelisiwe Sibiya also expressed her sadness towards the passing of the singer.

The actress posted a pic of him wishing that 2019 would go right. Nelisiwe Sibiya says, “Kodwa my friend @ThamiShobede was this a sign that you leaving us in 2019!!” Idols South Africa says, “As @MzansiMagic & #IdolsSA, we are saddened by the passing of our former Idols SA contestant, @ThamiShobede, a very talented musician with lots still to offer the music industry. Our deepest condolences to his family & friends. He will be greatly missed.” The singer supposedly collapsed when he was on stage this past weekend. According to Sowetan Live, a source close to Thami says his organs failed which landed him into a coma on Tuesday.
