The Ministry of Police is deeply concerned about the violent clashes and shootings that have occurred in the Kliptown policing precinct and surrounding areas, in the Soweto township of Gauteng.
Police Minister, General Bheki Cele will on Wednesday, 20 April 2022, receive a full briefing from the Provincial SAPS led by Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Elias Mawela on the shooting incidents and also outline a workable solution to the growing illegal activities that are sighted as possible motives for the violent confrontations and deadly shootings.
A media engagement is expected to follow the meeting that will take place at the Kliptown SAPS.
