PARKTOWN – Addressing the proliferation of crimes against women, children and vulnerable persons remains a top priority for the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Police in Gauteng is investigating a rape case that occurred in Alexandra during April 2018. A report suggests that two female victims were raped after they left a local tavern with two unknown men, who allegedly offered them transport home. The two victims allegedly later woke up in a house, whereafter they were raped. The incident was subsequently reported at Alexandra police station.
The case has been assigned to Gauteng Serial Electronic Crimes Investigations (SECI) which is a specialised team within the provincial Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
