A high school principal has been suspended for reportedly making two high school girls fall pregnant. The principal is a principal of a high school in Daveyton, Johannesburg. The Gauteng education spokesperson, Steve Mabona, agrees on the fact that the principal was put on a suspension.
According to News24, the Gauteng education spokesperson says that the the matter was addressed before the first term school holidays. Mabona says that that an examination could not e conducted at the time the matter was reported, he also stated that the timing had an impact on the procedure of getting information.
Steve Mabona says, “But since the schools have reopened, we acted as soon as we could.”
The Gauteng education spokesperson says that any type of abuse would not be allowed at educational institutions. He stated that the Gauteng MEC of education, Panyaza Lesufi, has been uttering that students are at the top of the Gauteng education department’s list. According to Sowetan, EFF representatives, who had been protesting outside of the educational institution, were happy when they saw the principal being taken out of the school yard by police officers.
The EFF spokeperson, Sipho Watkins, says, “This man has taken advantage of young girls in the school and as community leaders we demanded for his immediate suspension after we received the information.
The Gauteng MEC of education, Panyaza Lesufi, personally went to the school to go give the principal the letter of suspension. An acting principal has be put in place to look after the educational institution while the principal is being examined. Apparently, family members and other people living in the community of the school have arguing about the principal. They have been laying complaints for allegedly three months.
