The first year of elections has been the most trying electoral phase for many SA political parties. Whilst the assumption for many has been that parties like the DA would have the biggest debut, surprisingly COPE and EFF have had the biggest political and electoral debuts. Even though Cope had more numbers in their 2009 debut, EFF fared remarkably well for a party that had very little time to organise itself.
