Gauteng police officials apprehended nine guys after they were involved in a street fight. The fight happened at the famous Greenside restaurant strip in Johannesburg on Friday. The video recordings showed several people brawling by the roadside.
In one of the video recordings, a woman was seen swinging an object. The scene was quite intense. Captain Mavela Masondo, the police spokesperson, said the brawl was supposedly due to an argument on social media. The people involved supposedly knew each other on a personal basis.
“It seems that these people all knew one another because it is alleged that the fight initially started on Twitter. We have arrested nine people who were involved, but they have since all been released on bail and will appear in court soon,” says the police spokesperson. How the fight began and the reason why it was started is unknown. However, police have opened a case of common assault for the nine people that they apprehended.
