Two days ago Mzansi tweeps were furious when they realised that Doctor John Kani wasn’t in the cast photo of upcoming remake of the highly appraised movie ‘The Lion King’. The legendary actor has now reached out to explain why he wasn’t included in the cast photo of the movie. He says that at the time of the photoshoot he had to go.
The actor wasn’t the only one missing in the cast photo, fellow actor James Earl Jones (who plays the role of Mufasa) was also not included. Doctor John Kani went to clear the air on his Twitter account. He told his fans that some of the photos were taken while he was in England for another film role.
He was replying to another fan that wanted to know why he was not included in the picture. “Please understand that some of these pictures are taken while I am in production in England and could not be available,” says the actor. He also spoke about how well the airport officials treated him ahead of the movie’s premiere. He says they met him and his wife at their airplane’s door. He says they took him through the diplomatic customs desk.
“Landed in JFK. Mrs Kani and I were met at the door of the plane by airport officials taken through diplomatic customs desk. Quick passport check and then taken taken to the connecting LA flight for The Lion King red carpet premiere.”
